Overview

On Education Data Visualization and Analytics using Power BI, you will learn how to improve current Excel reports, learn about the capabilities of Power BI tools, and learn all the steps of reporting, from combining of various data sources (Excel, CSV, databases), adding calculations (KPI), visualization and dashboards, and ultimately the use of built-in reports across mobile devices. This education is based on the long-standing practice of Poslovna inteligencija’s consultants.

Audience

This training is intended for all interested students regardless of the previous knowledge of Power BI tools, whether you are a beginner or want to upgrade your existing knowledge.

What you will learn

After training, the student will be ready to make their own solution in Power BI using their business data. The student will learn how to connect to multiple data sources, create a data model and calculations, and visualize data and make dashboards.

Syllabus

  • 1. Introduction to microsoft power bi

    In this module you will learn what Power BI is and make a review of the main functionality of the tool.

  • 2. Connecting to data sources in power bi

    In this module, you will be familiar with data sources that can be used within Power BI such as Excel, CSV, and database.

  • 3. Data prepration and processing

    In this module, you will learn how to transform, filter, add, and delete data and create hierarchies and calculations to prepare the data in the structure that is needed to make visualizations.

    In this module you will learn how to create a data model from multiple sources and how to make relationship between them.

  • 5. Creating visualizations and dashboards

    In this module, you will learn how to create visual views based on the prepared data and dashboards based on best practices. Also, in this module, you will learn how to build DAX calculations and publish reports on the Power BI portal.
